House of Allah project

YOUTH CALENDER PROJECT
  
Grade 3 – Grade 4 (and any other student who would like to participate).
  
THEME: THE HOUSE OF ALLAH


               SUBMISSION
            REQUIREMENTS

1.     Each student is to create an original drawing of a Masjid using any art media desired, or free drawing.

2.      Each child should answer at least one of the following questions:

How does the Masjid help you?
What do you learn at the Masjid?
How do you hope to help your local Masjid?
Why do you love the Masjid?
What do you know about the houses of Allah?

Artwork Requirements

a)     Mailed original artwork should be no larger than 8.5”x11”, and WILL be returned insha’Allah.

b)    Photos of original artwork may be scanned and emailed to 4ouryouth@wowinspirations.org. (Mme ZamZam or Mme Khadijah will help you with this).

Written submission requirements

Paper must answer at least one of the five questions above for this year’s theme.

The answer should be no shorter than 11 words and no longer than 500 words.

Limitations: Entries are limited to one per child.

Factors considered in selection:
·        Originality
·        Adherence to the (B) rules of building a Masjid,
·        thoughtfulness of composition,
·        accomplishment relative to age.

Submissions received beyond the deadline will not be considered.
You will need to fill in an online form if you want to participate. (Mme ZamZam or
Mme Khadija will help you with this).

Rules of building a masjid

a)     No images (including faceless heads or animal, or shadows) should be drawn on the artwork.

b)    No Arabic or extra designs should be on, or in the Masjid art. The Masjid should be simple.

c)     No Moon and crescent, or Allah and Muhammad across from each other.

d)    Art can have scenery outside of the Masjid, or even inside such as plants or a balcony, etc.

e)     All art work must be original by the participating child.

f)      Parents please let your child be original with their work sticking within the guidelines given.
