Journee portes ouvertes

We thank all the parents for turning up to this event! We greatly admire your motivation and desire to promote the academic and spiritual well being of your children! May Allah make this road easier for us!

Field trip

Yesterday, we had probably one of the most informative, inspiring visits, to the Musee des Forces armees. The students, I hope, understand what a great and rich legacy their grandfathers, and great grand fathers have left them. We thank profusely Mme Marie Fall for making this visit happen!

We finished the day with a trip to My ice cream, just down the road on Bourgiba. If I had to recommend a flavour, choose the dark chocolate one with the chocolate syrup on top! It has some nuts inside as well. A lot of students, maybe about 5, got the coffee ice cream. This really was a strange choice for me... Anyway, like I hear here, les gouts et les couleurs ne se disputent pas!

House of Allah project

We are still working our our House of Allah project. We will start submitting entries today inshaAllah! Each student will receive a certificate of participation inshaAllah.

Text books

I am collecting the Science and Maths text books!  Please make sure that your child brings it back by Thursday inshaAllah.

Journee d'excellence - Saturday 22 June

The ceremony will be starting at 10h inshaAllah, at the grand amphitheatre de l'UCAD II. It will finish at 13 h. Certain classes will have their graduation ceremonies, and the best students will be honoured inshaAllah.

You will be able to purchase a laminated classbook, CD of photos of the year, and the individual picture of your child for 10.000fcfa. They will be on sale at the ceremony.

We would like the students to wear white clothing with their red hijabs inshaAllah. If you don't have any, no problem! It is not in any fashion or form obligatory!

House of Allah project

YOUTH CALENDER PROJECT

  

Grade 3 – Grade 4 (and any other student who would like to participate).

  

THEME: THE HOUSE OF ALLAH

               SUBMISSION

            REQUIREMENTS

1.     Each student is to create an original drawing of a Masjid using any art media desired, or free drawing.

2.      Each child should answer at least one of the following questions:

How does the Masjid help you?
What do you learn at the Masjid?
How do you hope to help your local Masjid?
Why do you love the Masjid?
What do you know about the houses of Allah?

Artwork Requirements

a)     Mailed original artwork should be no larger than 8.5”x11”, and WILL be returned insha’Allah.

b)    Photos of original artwork may be scanned and emailed to 4ouryouth@wowinspirations.org. (Mme ZamZam or Mme Khadijah will help you with this).

Written submission requirements

Paper must answer at least one of the five questions above for this year’s theme.

The answer should be no shorter than 11 words and no longer than 500 words.

Limitations: Entries are limited to one per child.

Factors considered in selection:

·        Originality

·        Adherence to the (B) rules of building a Masjid,

·        thoughtfulness of composition,

·        accomplishment relative to age.

Submissions received beyond the deadline will not be considered.

You will need to fill in an online form if you want to participate. (Mme ZamZam or

Mme Khadija will help you with this).

Rules of building a masjid

a)     No images (including faceless heads or animal, or shadows) should be drawn on the artwork.

b)    No Arabic or extra designs should be on, or in the Masjid art. The Masjid should be simple.

c)     No Moon and crescent, or Allah and Muhammad across from each other.

d)    Art can have scenery outside of the Masjid, or even inside such as plants or a balcony, etc.

e)     All art work must be original by the participating child.

f)      Parents please let your child be original with their work sticking within the guidelines given.

Family Fun Day tomorrow - TAWFIQ game AND Movie Night !!!

Assalamu alaikum!

Tomorrow will be the Parents Association annual fundraiser from 10am - 9pm inshaAllah.

All parents and students need to pay 500fcfa to get inside AND bring a juice/soda (grand modele) OR bring a snack (grand modele; the snack and juice are donations for sale) inshaAllah.

The 500 fcfa entrance fee will automatically give you a FREE tawfiq card! 

The 500 fcfa is the entrance fee for the morning activities ( 10am - 5pm).  The movie night will start at 5 pm. There will be 2 movies. Each movie is 1000 fcfa. That means if you want to watch both movies, you will have to pay 2000 fcfa.

The Parents Association and the IQRA staff have fixed a goal of 1,000,000 fcfa. We want to raise 1,000,000 fcfa tomorrow, so we need the participation of everyone!

There will also be kermesse type games, face painting, and henna painting at 500 fcfa per activity!

We are going to have the most fabulous food! So bring your money for caramel popcorn, topped crepes, delicious hot dogs, and MUCH, MUCH more inshaAllah!!!
