Community Service/ Science Fair/ Spirit Week

COMMUNITY SERVICE - DISTRIBUTIONS AT ALBERT ROYER

The enormous boxes of food, clothing, and toys that were donated by the students and staff of IQRA  were finally fully distributed several days ago. The last distribution went to the Albert Royer Hospital for children, Fann Hospital. Several students accompanied the administration, and they were very touched by it all.

SCIENCE FAIR

Huge Takbir to Grade four 1st place winner Abdoulaye Fall, 2nd place winner Seynabou Lahi Diagne and 3rd place winner Safiyatou Medina Mukarram!

All students who did not submit a project still need to do so. A letter will be out shortly.

PD DAY

There will be no school on Monday 29 April. Teachers will be having professional development training.

SPIRIT WEEK

Purpose: The purpose of spirit week is to get the kids enthused and supportive of the school. The week also serves to get students involved, working cooperatively and united on a common goal of promoting the school by doing weird and unusual things (starting with coming to school in your pyjamas)!

During this week, WE WILL BE HAVING CLASSES as normal. 

Tuesday April 30: The first event is Pyjama Day. Students come to school in loose fitting pyjamas (they still need to be able to pray in their clothing). If a student does not want to participate, it's OK! Just come in uniform.

Tuesday April 30: Breakfast Gouter partager. This time we will be having our breakfast together in class, or second breakfast for some!  We ask the students to contribute 200fcfa each. There is nothing else necesssary to contribute! Only 200fcfa.

Friday May 03: INTERNATIONAL Gouter partager! 

These are all school wide events, but the gouter partager will be done between Grade 3 and Grade 4 AND we want you to assist! So please tell us if you can take a cup of kenkelibaa with us! (Some children wanted coffee, coffee! LOL, mashaAllah, they are too grown)! We will have our gouter - partager at 9:30 am inshaAllah.

Science Fair tomorrow

Assalamu alaikum!

I hope that all of you are well!

Some information for tomorrow Friday 26 April. I am very sorry about posting this so late!

School will end at 4:15 inshaAllah and not at 3:30. Students will be able to view the best projects of their peers.

The buses will leave at 4:15 pm inshaAllah.

Please come to view our budding scientists! You can view class presentations ( petite section a CE1), and individual presentations from 2:30 - 5:30.

The students having the best projects from each grade will need to stay until 5:30.

The best 3 projects in Grade 4 are from: Safiyah Mukarram, Seynabou Diagne and Abdoulaye Fall!

Huge takbir to them! And excellent efforts made by the rest of the class!

Olympiad / Science Fair

OLYMPIAD! OLYMPIAD! OLYMPIAD!

Calling all to the first Olympiad (Sports Day)!!!

All students will compete in various sports activities (relay races, long jump, high jump, individual races...) for medals and prizes.

We will be having this event at ENEA (ex Suffolk University) in front of the large DEM DIKK garage on the Route de Ouakam, from 9am to 1pm inshaAllah, this coming Saturday 20 April!

Water will be offered!  Snacks will be available to purchase inshaAllah!

SCIENCE FAIR

We need some judges!  From Monday 22 April - Thursday 25 April, 2:30 - 4:30, and Friday 26 April from 2:30 - 5:30, we need persons to judge the projects. You will be given a score card. No scientific degree necessary! We just need your help! There are many projects, and each project needs to be reviewed by at least 3 persons to be fair!

Science Fair

What is the Science Fair? A science fair experiment is

generally a competition where contestants present their 

science project results in the form of a report, display board, 

and models that they have created. Science fairs allow 

students in grade schools and high schools to compete in 

science and/or technology activities.

Who participates in Science Fair? Everyone in IQRA will 

participate in the competition. It is obligatory and will count 

as 10% of the final Science grade note.

Science Fair ideas. This competition is THE possibility for 

students to show their science genius and creativity in

Preparing for the Science Fair: The video will help you in preparing your experiment, certainly if this is your first time!

Students should have at least

1. Chosen their projects
