Keep our IQRA environment clean!

Assalamu alaikum!

This Tuesday, October 2, will be the start of the Health and Hygiene Awareness Days. 

This year, the theme is "Keep our IQRA environment clean."

The objectives of these days are to increase awareness of cleanliness, and to promote the importance of cleanliness of the soul, the body and the environment. We are focusing also on the importance of keeping our classrooms and our school clean. By doing this, we are convinced that students will naturally have a more positive attitude about their school, a greater sense of school spirit and school pride insha Allah!

The week is full of activities. Take a look at the schedule for the upcoming week!

Make sure that your child participates in at least one of the competitions! It is a great way to enhance creativity, imagination and motivation!

·         Start of The Cleanest Class Competition: “How clean is your class?” (Upper School/Lower School)
Judges may pass at any time of the day to inspect your class!
·         Start of “Operation Keep IQRA clean.” Zero garbage outside, on the floors, and in the hallways.
Let our entire school be clean from today and onwards!
Wed 3rd Oct

13:15-13:30

·         Start of “The Best Health or Hygiene Slogan Competition” (Upper School/Lower School).
·         Start of “The Best Poetry Competition” (Theme: Keep our IQRA environment clean). (Upper School/Lower School).
·         Start of “The Best Poster Competition” (Entries must be centered on the theme). (Upper School/Lower School).
Please give your entries to your homeroom teachers!
·         Lunch time assemblies: “The importance and obligation of cleanliness of body and surroundings in Islam.” (Ya Seyda, Mme ZamZam, Oustadh Bah, Oustadh Ahmed…)

·         Deadline to submit all competition entries

Classes will continue as normal at 10:15 am!

All competition winners will be awarded certificates. Their pictures and awards will be posted on the school website www.iqraba.org. Winners will also be treated to a pizza and ice cream party!

Remember: Cleanliness is everyday and not just during Health and Hygiene Week!

Bienvenue a la classe de CM1 "Faraasha"



Chers parents et tuteurs,

Assalamu alaikum! Bienvenue à la classe de CM1 « Faraasha. »

CM1 est une classe pleine d'activités et très intéressante dans la mesure où les enfants de cet âge commencent à se considérer comme des individus uniques, et commencent également à se forger la personnalité.

Pour que  cette année soit  prolifique, stimulante et amusante pour vos enfants, nous aimerions vous rappeler de:

  • ·         Rester en contact avec l'enseignant de votre enfant car  la communication est essentielle pour la réussite de votre enfant. Un enfant motivé a  des parents motivés.


  • ·         Aidez autant que possible votre enfant à faire ses devoirs.


  • ·         Soyez actif dans l'Association des Parents.

S'il vous plaît n'oubliez pas que le port du foulard est obligatoire à IQRABA.

Néanmoins, nous allons intégrer la technologie beaucoup plus dans le programme. Nous vous informerez si votre enfant doit utiliser un ordinateur pour faire ses devoirs.

Welcome to Faraasha!




Dear parents and guardians,

Assalamu alaikum! Welcome to the “Faraasha” 4th grade class!

Fourth grade is quite a busy and interesting year, especially as children at this age are beginning to see themselves as unique, and are also starting to forge them own different personalities.

In order that this year becomes Islamically nurturing, stimulating, and fun for your children, we would like for you to continually do the following:
·        

  •       Keep in contact with your child’s teacher. Communication is crucial to the success of your child. A motivated child is driven by motivated parents.


  • ·         Be on top of what your child is doing! All information about anything at IQRA can be found on the following websites:

Everything pertaining to your child’s academic achievements and progress. You need to sign up or just log in your child already has an Engrade identification number.

Here, you will find additional information concerning classes, activities, samples of your child’s work, important dates and events, and a whole lot of other interesting news.


  • Volunteer your time and energy to help IQRA improve your child’s learning experience. 
  • Actively follow what your child is learning. 
  • Help as much as possible your child with homework. 
  • Help out with extracurricular activities and clubs. 
  • Be active in the Parents Association. 
  • Volunteer a few minutes in fundraising activities.   
  • These are all valuable ways in creating around your child a healthy, positive environment!

Please do not forget that the headscarf is obligatory on school premises.


We will be incorporating a lot more technology into the curriculum. You will always get notifications when your child is required to use the computer to supplement work.
